NJHC Car Treks invite you to discover the hidden history, natural wonders, and scenic backroads of the Highlands Region. Each Car Trek provides an expertly crafted route (50 – 70 miles in length) and a tour packet that provides interpretive details about select points of interest along the route.
The theme of the Fall 2023 Car Trek on Sunday, October 29 is Highlands Harvest: Discovering our Region’s Bounty and features several family-owned businesses featuring locally produced foods and beverages. The Trek will begin at Valley Shepherd Creamery in Long Valley (Morris County) and wind southwest into Hunterdon and Warren Counties along scenic backroads and past sites of natural and historical interest. The Trek will conclude at Beneduce Vineyards in Pittstown with an option to stay and attend the Vineyard’s Sunday Pinic Event (additional cost, not included with ticket).
